With a fourth-place finish, Kamila Valieva’s controversial Winter Olympics ended in tears in the free skate after the 15-year-old fell multiple times in the women’s event.
Anna Shcherbakova of Russian Olympic Committee member, and Alexandra Trusova, with Japan’s Kaori Sakamoto, claimed gold, silver, and bronze medal, respectively.
After a court ruled, Valieva, in the spotlight, while awaiting the score, she; could compete in Beijing after a failed drugs test, sobbed.
Valieva had directed going into the free skate contest.
In the first place, those who witnessed the events questioned the wisdom of allowing her to skate, and the Court of Arbitration for Sport had stated that it would do “irreparable harm” do not permit it.
It would say many of those who witnessed it may have done that by permitting this act.

To her family, someone thought having her do that was better than having her go home and wait and resolve it ahead of her, knowing she could have two more Olympics.
